AVAILABLE REFRACTIVE LENS EXCHANGE
Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is gaining popularity as an affordable
surgical option for people over 40 who want to decrease or eliminate
their dependence on glasses or contacts.
The Crystalens™ IOL is
the only accommodative lens available in the U.S. that is designed
to provide a continuous range of vision for distance, intermediate,
near and everything in between. The Crystalens™ is
designed to move within the eye using the same muscle as your natural
lens. This enables the eye to automatically focus to provide distance,
intermediate and near vision and reduce your need for glasses or contact
lenses. For more information on the Crystalens™ IOL, click
here.
ReZoom™ intraocular lens is a second-generation refractive multifocal IOL that provides hyperopic cataract patients with greater independence from glasses than monofocal IOLs. The ReZoom™ proprietary multifocal design provides a range of vision that monofocals cannot match.
The ReZoom™ Multifocal lens features Balanced View Optics™ Technology – uniquely proportioned visual zones that provide it with a major advantage. Each ReZoom™ Multifocal lens is divided into five different zones with each zone designed for different light and focal distances.

ReSTOR® IOL Provides a full range of vision decreasing the dependency on reading glasses or bifocals. The revolutionary lens technology, which is designed to allow patients to see at all distances without bifocals or reading glasses. The ReSTOR IOL delivers a high level of glasses-free vision for cataract patients.
ReSTOR® IOL gives cataract patients a clinically proven way of leaving glasses behind, because it is designed with apodized diffractive technology. Apodization is a gradual reduction or blending of the diffractive step heights. The apodized diffractive optic is designed to improve image quality while minimizing visual disturbances. The result is an increased range of quality vision. Click here for more information. Find out more about ReSTOR® IOL.
The recipient of any refractive lens implant will never develop cataracts because the lens implant replaces the natural lens, which is what eventually develops into a cataract in millions of older Americans.

Commonly Asked Questions:
How soon after surgery will I see well?
Most patients notice an immediate improvement in vision. For most people,
near, far and intermediate vision continues to improve over the next
few weeks. Vision continues to improve as you adjust to seeing through
the multifocal lens.
Will refractive surgery hurt?
The procedure takes about fifteen minutes and is usually painless.
Will I still need my glasses or contacts?
The goal of refractive surgery is to reduce your dependence on glasses
and/or contact lenses.
Will my insurance cover RLE?
Most health care coverage considers RLE surgery an elective surgical
procedure and does not cover it. For our RLE patients, we highly recommend CapitalOne Healthcare Finance. Find
out more about it here. |
